New Slugging and Omniride Bus Services from the University Blvd. Commuter Lot in Gainesville
Starting Monday, October 28, 2019 the new University Boulevard Commuter Lot will be serviced by sluglines and Omniride. The lot opened earlier this month and will provide another option for Gainesville, Manassas and Haymarket commuters along I-66 corridor to park and ride to Arlington and DC destinations.
Commuters who drive to Arlington and DC destinations can now pickup slugs (aka., riders) from University Boulevard commuter lot. There are 3 pickup stations with signs to the Pentagon, Rosslyn and DC. Afternoon return Pickup meeting points are listed in the website with directions. The flyer linked below shows the process and slugging etiquette. Commuters using Facebook can also join the Gainesville Sluglines group to communicate and coordinate rides.

OmniRide express bus service from Gainesville to the Pentagon service starts on Monday, October 28, 2019. Buses run five trips each weekday morning at 4:56 AM, 5:20 AM, 5:43 AM, 6:03 AM and 6:23 AM from University Boulevard to the Pentagon. Afternoon express bus services from the Pentagon Bus Bay L2 will leave at 3:20 PM, 3:45 PM, 4:05 PM, 4:25 PM, and 5:18 PM. Currently, the bus fares are half-price ($3.45 each way) being subsidized by the Transform 66 Project.
